I wanted to give ya'll a heads up on some upcoming activities for June:
- Sunday, June 13 @ 5 p.m. - Going Away party for Katy and Jacob Hill. Yeah, they're leaving, and we're happy about it in the "we know this is God's plan for you, but we really really really wish you could stay here" way. Appetizer pot-luck is the menu, so bring your favorite and we'll send them off in the good old Baptist way. This will be held at church, but specific place TBD.

house. Not sure about the menu just yet, so stay tuned. - Saturday, June 26 @ 2 p.m. - Daniel Melton and Laura Edwards will be getting married at FBC Cabot!

On Sunday, we talked about Jesus walking on the water and feeding the 5,000. Those were stories I have probably heard 5,000 times, but heard them in a brand new way. Remember the verse for this week: "Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:2-4.
This week, we will continue on with Mark 7: Are there barriers in your life that keep you from drawing closer in your personal relationship with Christ? Could you spot them if there were? What about your religious practices or traditions? Could they, or do they, keep you from a more intimate relationship with God? This week as you study God’s word, ask Him to show you any barriers in your life and to help you break them down. May not be as easy as it sounds... Here is the week's lesson.
As always, I hope you guys have a great week and if there's anything you'd like me to post, just email me. I would like this to become more of a dialogue, so please please please leave a comment!
