March to the Manger and Church Holiday Schedule

Hey ya'll - I saw this info today on the church website and thought I would post it again here, and also remind you of some upcoming events.

Girls - our last bible study day will be this coming Sunday, the 6th. At 5 p.m., so we'll see you there.

Also, save the date for our Sunday School Christmas party will be December 13th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m at the Veazey's house. There will be nursery provided for the kids, and they will need to be picked up before 8 from the church. We'll pass around a food sign-up sheet in a few weeks like we did for Thanksgiving.

MARCH TO THE MANGER

On Sunday, December 6, you have the opportunity to give a worthy, sacrificial offering for Global Missions. First Baptist Church is celebrating the climax of our Global Mission Emphasis with our annual March To The Manger. Through our Global Mission Offering we support the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, the Annie Armstrong Offering for North American Missions, and the Dixie Jackson State Missions Offering used right here in Arkansas. All of these offerings are used to help support over 10,000 missionaries and to help strengthen gospel outreach worldwide. In addition your generous offering will help finance evangelism projects in Guatemala as well as our new church plant in Wichita, Kansas. A portion of your gifts will help feed hungry families through the World Hunger Funds of our mission boards. And lastly, you will impact the lives of many orphans and other people in Bulgaria with the love of Jesus. Let us all bring a worthy offering that comes from a heart for missions and for the world. Give – and then let us watch and be utterly amazed at what God does with and through the combined offerings of His people.

Christmas Gifts for the Adopted Family

Hey girls -

Don't forget about the family that we've adopted for Christmas from Big Brothers Big Sisters. We all signed up to buy clothes and games for the kids in this family, so please bring your wrapped gifts to the Christmas party on the 13th. Robin will take them then and give them to BBBS to distribute.

Cabot Open House Crawl and Thanksgiving Gathering

Well, it's been too long since the blog has been updated. We'll try to do a better job of keeping this up-to-date.  If you're new to the class and to this site, you'll see some pictures along the sidebar. If you would like to add yours or would like to update it, please email it to me - lhaywood@spp.org - and I will put it up there. Also, if you have a family blog that you would like to add, send that to me as well.

This coming Sunday is our annual Cabot Open House Crawl and Thanksgiving Gathering. The girls will meet at the church around 1:30, and we will come back to the church between 4 and 4:30. We will take a church van (with permission of course!), and ride around town visiting all of the Christmas open houses. It's a good time for fellowship and shopping!

Afterwards, we will meet at Calvin and Ginger's house for dinner with everybody (men and children included)! Their address is 25 Ridge Road (Go up Rockwood from Hwy 89, turn left on the second street, and they are the 7th house on the left), and they will have brisket and ham prepared for us. The following list is what everybody else has signed up for:

Salads:
Wootens

Vegetables:
McEntires - corn pudding
McDonalds - sweet potatoes
Keenans - broccoli and rice casserole
Hills - dressing
Rowes - green bean casserole

Drinks:
Wootens
Veazeys - ice and tea

Desserts:
McEntires - pumpkin pie
Steelmans
Jennifer Jones

Your Choice:
Theisings - mac n cheese
Steelmans
Haywoods - plates, napkins, cups, dinner rolls

Ya'll - my mouth is watering just thinking about all of this! It's going to be a great time of fellowship, and if there is someone you haven't seen in a while, be sure to invite them to come along!

Also, mark your calendars for December 13th. That will be our Christmas party hosted by the Veazeys, and there will be childcare provided by the church. We'll have a sign-up list for food in December, so stay tuned!
